Interference
'Oh, hi, Ellis! How're you? Come in.'
'I'm alright, I guess. Sorry to drop in on you unannounced.'
'No, it's fine. What's up?'
'Hey, Ellis.'
'Hi. I'm sorry, I came over to tell you... the investigation's thrown out those pictures as evidence. Claims they're obviously unreliable and “very likely faked”.'
'Ah, shit.'
'...Sorry, Mattie. Pretend you didn't hear that.'
'It's okay, they're too young to pick it up. Bollocks.'
'Yeah... Sorry, you two. I tried.'
'It's okay, man. We appreciate what you did. Not like it wasn't expected.'
'Logan's right. We would've been very surprised if it'd actually succeeded. Just proves we can't do anything against Tate via the legal route.'
'It's so frustrating... I just want to do my damn job right! He shouldn't get away with what he tried to do to this house.'
'I know. We're just trying to look on the bright side. It's restored well, we're all unharmed, and we've got better protection in place.'
'Though I swear to God, if he does a single thing to hurt my baby, I'll rip his head off myself. Both of them.'
'Yeah, well, the idiot might not try something so obviously incriminating now he knows for a fact Miles is following his every move. Besides, he'll have to come out of hospital first.'
'It's such a shame Charon didn't succeed in squashing him.'
'No. I want him dead, believe me, but it's better for Charon to not have to live with that burden.'
'Of course. You're right. So... any ideas what we can do now?'
'Carry on with Brie. Seems like she's going to be a lot easier to persuade now Nalini's got through to her. I don't think she'll stick around to see this pregnancy out.'
'Good! I hope I helped at least sow some seeds of doubt, even though... well, we know what happened.'
'I reckon so. I think she believed you, Raya. Just wasn't ready to face it.'
'Thank God. At least it wasn't for nothing.'
'I was wondering if she could be a potential source for evidence, in the future. I don't mean the police... We all know that won't go anywhere. But if we ever need it, somewhere else...'
'Like what?'
'The media.'
'Shit, seriously?'
'Not yet, of course. But if any of us ever take it to the press... Aria's been making some comments about doing that closer to election time.'
'Do you think Brianne would agree to help?'
'No idea. Just a thought I had. She could easily record him, or if that's too dangerous... Hmmm. I'm having ideas. Let me think on it a while longer, okay?'
'Sure. I'm glad you're helping, Ellis.'
'Well, I can't sit back any longer and just let things continue as they are. One day, this all has to come to a head... I don't think we'll have the option of sitting back and trying to ignore him for much longer.'
'Yeah, well, I hope it ends with him all alone. That'd be exactly what he deserves.'
'Until he finds someone else. Honestly, Logan, this isn't gonna be truly over while he's still free to do what he wants. He'd have to be dead or in prison, and since the latter isn't happening...'
'Look, let's not be making any more plans for murder. Aside from the evident fact that I'm a cop and shouldn't be anywhere near this kind of discussion, I don't see who could actually do it.'
'Stanley's relatives seem like they'd be cool with it.'
'For obvious reasons, we are not hiring the mafia to put out a hit on my father. It's ridiculous that's even a consideration, but... there you go. That's the kind of situation we're in now.'
