Moving house

'Here we are. I think this is the right house.'

'Number 58! Yep, this is it. Let's go in.'

'How many people did you say lived here, again?'

'Three.'

'Oh, hey!'

'Uh... hi. What can we do for you?'

'Ah, sorry! I'm Topaz, and this is my brother Isai. I'm moving in today.'

'Oh, really? We didn't know we were getting anyone new.'

'Landlord never tells us anything. Oh well, doesn't matter now. I'm Ivy!'

'Stanley.'

'And my name is Aria.'

'Nice to meet you all! Looks like this is gonna be a girly house.'

'And Stan's the girliest of them all!'

'Hey, fuck you! I'm perfectly fuckin' manly. Great to meet you, Topaz. You a supernatural? 'Cause you don't see a lotta glowin' eyes round here.'

'Yeah, we're both werewolves. I did hear Sunset Valley is mostly human.'

'That's right. My uncle's a vampire, so is his girlfriend, my niece and nephew are aliens and I've seen a fairy around a couple of times. Other than that, nothing really interesting.'

'Well, that doesn't matter. I'm expecting some weird looks but as long as people aren't rude, I'm fine with it.'

'I think glowing eyes are pretty, anyway.'

'Thanks!'

'So what made you choose here?'

'I've got a new job here, that's why. I just joined a security firm and they've sent me to this town.'

'Oh, you're a security guard? Sweet, so am I. Not for a firm, though, just his store.'

'Cooper's Consignment. Check it out sometime.'

'Yeah, you get that plug in there.'

'Heh, I don't mind! Sure I'll pay it a visit.'

'Do you know who or what you're gonna be guardin'?'

'Yeah. The mayor's house.'

'...Oh, poor you.'

'Poor me...?'

'He's a major asshole, sorry to have to tell you.'

'Oh...'

'And you're definitely his type.'

'Wait, how would you know that...?'

'You're female.'

'Right...'

'And attractive. That just seals it.'

'Do you know this man?'

'...He's my dad. Sympathy is welcome.'

'Sounds like you really rate him. Isn't he married?'

'Yeah, but that's never stopped him. It's probably never crossed his mind to stay faithful. It's always all about him and what he wants. And a lot of the time, he wants to shag the first young, sexy woman to come along.'

'Sorry to hear that... Man, this sucks. I was hoping he'd be decent.'

'I guess you can't change your assignment just like that on no evidence, but the second he tries anything you wouldn't be wrong to leave right away.'

'Ah, I'll be fine. I've dealt with dickheads before. A job's a job! And I can always leave if I end up hating it.'

'That's the spirit!'

'He'd regret messing with Topaz. She's not one to put up with nonsense.'

'Good for her!'

'I'm glad he's hired you, though. I can rest a bit easier knowing my siblings are a bit more protected.'

'I'll do my best!'

'Thanks.'

'Hey, you're gonna like it in this house. All good fun here.'

'Stan's right. We've been here years. Been looking forward to having someone else! You seem nice.'

'Aww, I'm glad you think so! You all seem really nice too. I'm relieved about that, at least. You hear some horror stories about housemates.'

'Exactly. I lived with some complete arseholes when I was at university. I'm reassured to think that Topaz is living with good people.'

'Oh yeah, another thing. I'm an alcoholic, to put it bluntly. Sober now, thankfully. Would you mind keeping your booze in your own rooms? And if you want to drink it one evening, let me know so I can go be somewhere else?'

'Sure, that's fine! I'm related to an alcoholic. So don't worry, I know what to do.'

'Yeah, I'm friends with the same guy. We can be accomodatin', don't worry.'

'Oh, thanks for being understanding! You're the best!'

'Not a problem. I think we'll get along here just fine.'
