Audacity

'Hey, Ivy.'

'Yo Ari. You got a letter. I've left it on the kitchen table.'

'Oh, thanks.'

'Huh. Who's written to me?'

'Is he fucking serious?!'

'Hi, Brie.'

'Hey Roxxi! This is a surprise. What's up?'

'Oh, the usual. How are the girls?'

'A handful, as always. I'm always having to chase them round. If one's behaving, it'll be the other that's acting up. Usually Peach, no matter how innocent she's trying to look.'

'Aww, bless her. Hey, multiples are tough. Are you managing okay?'

'Yeah. I'm just tired out by them.'

'Makes sense! Well, if you need help, you can ask me, alright?'

'I'm a big girl, I can handle myself. But thanks for the offer.'

'No problem. Um, there is a reason for me calling...'

'Go on.'

'Can I ask a favour?'

'Depends on what it is.'

'I need to use you as an excuse. I'm going away at the weekend, just for one day, and I want to tell Tate I'm at yours because you had some kind of emergency. Can I do that? I wouldn't ask unless it was really important.'

'You probably shouldn't lie to your husband. Where are you going, anyway?'

'I really can't say. I need it to stay secret, at least for a while yet.'

'Aw, come on Rox. I'm your sister. Surely you can tell me?'

'Nope...'

'Alright. Fine, I'll cover for you. But you'd better tell me eventually, okay? I'd love to know what's so important that I need to lie to Tate for you.'

'I will, once it's resolved.'

'Thank you. Marigold, don't push on the TV like that! Look, I've got to go.'

'Okay. See you later.'
