Protests

'Hey, Nalini, do I look tired to you? Didn't get much sleep.'

'Mmm, you do a little bit, yes. Nix keeping you awake?'

'Yeah. I'm not sure why, she's been pretty good lately. But suddenly she decided she was wide awake and wanted to play "Throw Daddy's things onto the floor".'

'Oh God. Her way of keeping you on your toes, I guess.'

'She could pick a better time than three in the morning.'

'Oh, I have no doubt, but a more appropriate time wouldn't be fun for her. Does your partner sleep through it?'

'He could sleep through a natural disaster. Sometimes I wake him up. Other times I decide to be kind.'

'Heh, that sounds like me. I've had times where not only have I been impossible to wake up, but have slept through for a solid day. Very disorientating upon waking up.'

'Wow, a whole day? That's crazy. I bet Heath would do that, given the chance!'

'So how has Nix been, when she's not redecorating your bedroom?'

'Good. She's expanding her vocabulary. Nothing bad yet, thankfully!'

'"Yet"? Sounds ominous.'

'Heath swears a lot.'

'Ahh, I see. It can be difficult to turn off the sailor mouth around kids. I'm glad my daughter didn't pick up any of my horrible vocabulary.'

'Haha, I'm not so bad with it. Did she ever say anything awkward as a kid?'

'She did once declare "shit!" to...I don't even remember once, and dropped a "Goddamn lycans" - in front of a werewolf. And in spite of my vampirism, I wasn't the one responsible.'

'Oh no! I hope you didn't get into any trouble?'

'Fortunately not. The werewolf in question just grouched and fucked off, if memory serves me right.'

'Glad to hear it. Thanks for taking Edward out yesterday, by the way. It really cheered him up.'

'Oh, it's no problem. I'm glad it helped. How is he now?'

'Better. It did upset him though... Unsurprising, what Hazel said was awful.'

'I don't actually know what happened. He said a student was abusive, and that's all, so I chose not to press the issue.'

'Oh, right... Well, if you ever see a demon girl around, it's her. She's horrible, stay away at all costs.'

'...A demon? I'm no stranger to the supernatural, but I can't say I've seen many demons hanging around.'

'Well, she's a half demon. Her dad's a human. In a manner of speaking.'

'Ah...'

'She doesn't live here though, she only goes to school here.'

'Wait, she's from another town but makes a commute to Sunset Valley and back for school? Presumably she has a form of fast travelling, but still. That sounds, uh...well, pretty fucking stupid.'

'Yeah, she teleports... And, well, it's to intimidate us.'

'...Charming. They sound like a real family of winners.'

'You have no idea. Charon's in her class, worse luck.'

'Oh dear. Poor him.'

'We try to stay clear. But it's Tate they're really interested in. Long story.'

'That's something then, at least. I can't say I'll be upset to hear someone irritating Tate.'

'Me neither. So you met my sister, huh?'

'Oh, yes. Admittedly we didn't talk much, but there were a few words exchanged about how much of a dick Tate is.'

'It's a fun topic. It'd be cool if you met my other siblings too. All... um, five of them.'

'Bloody hell. Some half siblings? Because, uh...ouch.'

'Of course! Me, Ari and Raya with Sheri and then the triplets and Julius with Roxxi.'

'...Triplets. Triplets.'

'...I've always felt very sorry for her.'

'...One baby was painful enough to carry. Not to mention deliver. And raise. Jesus.'

'You won't find me disagreeing!'

'I wouldn't know her if I fell over her, but I feel sorry for the poor woman already.'

'She's done a great job with them though.'

'Ah, good.'

'No more Tiberium! Stop Tiberium usage now!'

'Oh, for the love of God, not again!'

'That's not a bad turn out.'

'Why thank you. There were more earlier too.'

'You look pretty proud of yourself.'

'I am, Charon! I never thought I'd get this many people onto the cause, but it's really taking off! And I'm glad Heath offered to help out today.'

'How long have you been running this now?'

'It's coming up to six years.'

'Brilliant. So, how much of this is to piss off Grandad?'

'Hah. Don't get me wrong, I'm really dedicated to saving the planet and I'd still be doing all this regardless, but I must admit the fact that it's getting on his nerves is a really sweet bonus.'

'He looks pretty mad.'

'Yeah, well, he's a fool to ignore it. He of all people should realise what'll happen if it carries on! He's the one who took the Age Freeze potion, after all.'

'Man, you're right. I get that he wants to run the town forever, but in another hundred years there might not be a town left. Scary thought.'

'Aww, you get it! I'm glad someone does. Everyone else just gets this blank look.'

'Mm, you do tend to ramble on a bit...'

'Heh, I guess I do. Whoops.'
